Good: leather hinges cracked, though interior hinges are sound; forecorners bumped & frayed; head of spine a bit chipped; covers & page edges stained & soiled; paper foxed; damp stains in corners of a few pages; 2 small worm holes in front board & pastedown. All pages present, and aside from light foxing, pages are clean and legible. Contemporary brown calf with black leather title inlay on spine. 16mo, iv+375 pp, with 8 fold-out engravings plus other illustrations in the text. A reprint of 1825 first edition.
